What is InHome delivery from Walmart?

Walmart+ InHome is an enhanced delivery service with trusted Walmart Associates handling every step of your order. When you have a Level smart lock, you can have InHome deliveries placed directly into your kitchen, or even inside your fridge. InHome delivery is ultra-convenient & extremely secure.

Here’s what a typical InHome delivery looks like:

1. Add items to your cart, check-out, and select a delivery window and preferred delivery location (e.g., in my fridge)
2. An associate will shop for your items and get them packaged for delivery.
3. You’ll receive a notification when an Associate is on the way to your home & at your door.
4. Once an Associate arrives, they’ll receive a one-time access code to unlock your door and their vest camera will start recording.
5. They’ll deliver to your preferred location (e.g., kitchen), placing perishable/cold items into either your fridge or zippered bags.
6. After putting your items away, they’ll sanitize any surfaces they touch, then re-lock your door to leave.
7. After your delivery is complete, you’ll get a notification when the recording of your delivery is available. It usually takes less than 30 minutes & is viewable for up to 7 days in the Walmart app after delivery is complete.

When are orders delivered?

InHome delivery is available 7 days a week, with deliveries from 9am–1pm & 2pm–6pm. To place an order, shop Walmart.com or the Walmart app for items eligible for store delivery & make sure you’ve chosen the InHome option for your time slot at checkout. (It’s usually the top listed choice.)

Note: If you select a 1-hour time slot at checkout (under “Delivery from store”), your order will not be handled by InHome. Instead, you’ll be choosing tipped delivery from a Walmart partner who may not know your delivery preferences & where to place your order.

What else do I need to be ready for a smart lock-enabled delivery?

Keep a clear path to your fridge

Be sure the path that you requested we follow to your fridge is clear and easy for our associates to navigate. We don't want to move, bother or bump into any of your personal items during the delivery.

Secure your pets

If you have pets, please be sure they're kept away from the kitchen area (in a different room or crate) and the pathway to it.

Disable your alarm system

You'll need to disable your alarm system on the day of delivery. If you can control your system remotely, just turn it off during the delivery window. Walmart doesn't take responsibility for calls to emergency responders or security services triggered by an alarm that has been left on.

How secure are deliveries?

• Walmart Associates are some of the friendliest, most reliable & hardworking people we know. Each one is a vetted, highly rated, full-time Walmart Associate that has worked in one of our stores.
• Associates receive a one-time use encrypted code to unlock your door that is only usable during your delivery window.
• Each InHome delivery associate wears a camera on their vest that records every delivery they make. Videos start the moment before your door is opened and end the moment after it locks shut. You can view recordings of all your deliveries in the Walmart app for up to 7 days after your delivery.
• A delivery associate only has access to your home only when they are actually making your delivery (only during your delivery window and with their vest camera on & recording). When they leave and lock your door, the delivery is complete and they lose access to your smart lock.
• Delivery associates have been trained to provide top-quality service, from grocery picking to fridge stocking and organization, to treating your home with the utmost respect and care.
• Each of our delivery associates is insured up to $1 million for liability. If something is damaged during a delivery, please contact Walmart InHome Customer Care.
• Associates undergo multiple types of background checks before being approved for InHome delivery.

What happens to order videos?

You can view recordings of all your deliveries in the Walmart app for up to 7 days after your delivery but these delivery recordings are not used or accessed for marketing or service improvement purposes. In fact, they are only accessed if required for legal reasons (for example, in response to legal requests, to comply with state and federal laws, or to enforce our agreements) or associate safety reasons. We also have strict policies and technical barriers in place to prevent unauthorized employee access to video data, and videos are always deleted 7 days after they are made.
